Chelsea could make a move for Southampton defender Virgil Van Dijk after he was banished from first-team training on Thursday.
According to Bleacher Report journalist Dean Jones, Chelsea have been waiting for Van Dijk to become available.

Jone says that the Blues have been looking to get on Southampton’s good side so that they had an advantage over Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were made to issue an apology earlier this summer after Southampton accused them of tapping up the Dutch international.
Despite publicly ending their interest in Van Dijk, Liverpool have been continually linked with the defender since the incident.
Southampton are seemingly keen not to sell to Liverpool, which could give Chelsea the advantage if they look to make a move for the Saints skipper.
