Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel has told PSV Eindhoven that he’d like to remain at the club for the upcoming season, as reported by Priya Ramesh.
Van Ginkel first joined PSV on loan at the end of the 2015/16 season after Stoke cancelled his loan deal mid-season.
The Dutch midfielder suffered a knee injury last summer which prevented him from continuing on loan at PSV for the 2016/17 season. However, after his recovery, van Ginkel signed a new three-year contract at Chelsea in December before again joining PSV on loan.
It’s now believed that the 24-year-old has informed the Dutch side of his desire to also spend next season at the club.
PSV Eindhoven would prefer to sign van Ginkel on a permanent deal rather than on loan and will talk to Chelsea about a potential deal for the midfielder. Van Ginkel scored twice in 15 games for PSV last season.
