Bournemouth vs Chelsea: Match preview

Chelsea face another huge challenge in their attempts to win the Premier League this season because before kick-off Tottenham could already have cut the gap at the top to just four points if they’re able to beat Watford at home in Saturday’s early game.

Bournemouth have been up and down so far this season, collecting just two points from the turn of the year until the end of February – failing to cope with the departure of Nathan Ake, who was recalled by Chelsea in January, before turning a corner and going on a five-game unbeaten run.

These include credible draws away to both Manchester United and Liverpool, whilst earlier on in the season they threw away a three-goal lead to draw with Arsenal and a late Ake goal saw them beat Liverpool 4-3 in one of the games of the season.

Josh King has scored 12 league goals this season and has nine goals in his last ten appearances – making him Bournemouth’s top scorer. Dan Gosling is a doubt for the game, having suffered a knee injury last week that ruled him out of the 2-2 draw with Liverpool, while Junior Stanislas is also a doubt. On the other hand, Tyrone Mings will return from his five-game ban for a proposed stamp on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Ryan Fraser is also expected to return to the starting lineup.

For Chelsea, Victor Moses looks set to restore some order to the back-line this Saturday, returning from a toe injury that has seen him miss the last two games.
