Antonio Conte has named Alexis Sanchez as his first-choice summer transfer target, according to the Guardian.
The Italian head coach has informed the Chelsea board of his intentions to bring the Chilean to Stamford Bridge.
Director Marina Granovskaia and technical director Michael Emenalo have been handed a list of players that the Italian would like to sign this summer, with Sanchez’s name at the top of the list.
Conte has long been an admirer of Sanchez and tried to lure him to Juventus during his time in Serie A.
Sanchez is widely expected to leave the Emirates this summer following a contract dispute, but the Blues face competition from Juventus and Bayern Munich.
The player has 15 months remaining on his current deal with Arsenal. He has reportedly demanded a huge pay rise from £130,000 per week to £250,000 per week and as it stands, Arsenal are thought to be unwilling to pay him that much.
