Diego Costa continued his imperious goal scoring form against Swansea City as Chelsea went 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League with a hard-fought 3-1 win.
Cesc Fabregas played a masterful game in midfield, on his 300th Premier League appearance, and it was no surprise when the Spaniard poked in from close range to open the scoring.
Fabregas and N’Golo Kante continued to dominate possession in the first-half, but Chelsea couldn’t score the all important second goal, and Fernando Llorente’s header late in the half drew the relegation battlers level.
Frank Lampard was welcomed back to Stamford Bridge with rapturous applause from the Chelsea faithful at half-time, with the match day programme dedicated to his remarkable trophy-laden career at the club.
Chelsea maintained their attacking press in the second-half, but it took a Łukasz Fabiański mistake to restore the Blues’ lead as he palmed Pedro’s shot into the net.
Yet another mazy Eden Hazard run then set up Costa for his 17th goal of the season in all competitions)and his eighth goal against Swansea in only his fifth game against them, to settle the game once and for all.
Here are my Chelsea player ratings from the game:
