AC Milan are reportedly looking to sign Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas from Chelsea in the summer, according to Jamie Styles of The Daily Star.
The club are currently undergoing a financial takeover by Chinese investors which is rumoured to be completed by next month nd with their newfound resources, Milan will be looking to tie down their key players such as goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to new contracts as well as compete in the transfer market, which brings them to Fabregas.
The midfielder has lost his starting role within the Chelsea squad and has become somewhat of an impact substitute due to the effective midfield pairing of N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic that manager Antonio Conte has preferred throughout the season. Conte’s Chelsea currently sits atop the Premier League table by eight points, so Fabregas’ status within the squad is not likely to change anytime soon.

However, the Spaniard still remains an important player to the club. With the addition of Champions League football to Chelsea’s schedule next season, Fabregas may become a useful tool for Conte to use as he attempts to rotate the squad, keep all of his players fresh, and win games.
In the end, it does not seem as though a move for Fabregas would be likely though, as both the club and the player seem to be happy with one another but Milan will likely test the waters this summer.
