Are Chelsea their only enemies for the title?

Are Chelsea their only enemies for the title?

We all saw yet another stunning display by the Blues against Arsenal on Saturday. Taking the gap between us and second, in Tottenham to 12 points. Tottenham then played Middlesborough at home and won, 1-0. So, can anyone catch Chelsea?

The boys from the Bridge are now nine points ahead of all other league sides, so surely the only way we can lose it from here is if we ourselves become the problem?

It would take three league losses in a row and three Tottenham wins in a row for us to be level on points, but even then we’re five goals ahead of Spurs on goal difference.

The world ‘unstoppable’ comes to mind, Chelsea are just too good. Too focused and trained to throw such a lead away. In the last 13 matches of the season, Chelsea will play just one other ‘top four’ side, Manchester City at home.

In their last encounter, Chelsea beat City 3-1 and scored all the goals. Even if we were to lose against City, but beat every other side as most expect we will Chelsea will still be six points clear.

So surely the only way Chelsea can not win the league is if they themselves are at fault. The title is in our hands. Antonio Conte, however, is far too intelligent and has his men too well drilled to give any other team a chance.

Which takes me to Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and Thibaut Courtois. Our most valuable players of the season so far. With Costa netting 15 goals, Hazard with 10 and Courtois making 13 clean sheets for the season. Our players are just a class of a phenomenal breed.

This Chelsea team has everything class, flare and hard fought 1-0 away wins against a team with no other interests than putting a bus in front of goal.

So the league can be no one else’s others than ours, so long as injuries don’t go against us and our players continue to perform, all miracles for Tottenham, United, City and Liverpool will fall short.

matchday.
