Chelsea took a big step towards the Premier League title by beating Arsenal 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The Blues took the lead through Marcos Alonso, who headed home into an empty net after Diego Costa’s initial header crashed off the bar.
The goal was a controversial one, Alonso knocked Hector Bellerin out in the process but no foul was given. The Arsenal defender was forced out and replaced by Gabriel.
Eden Hazard dominated the Arsenal defence, despite taking a knock in the first half and he got his reward with a spectacular second half goal.
After a few quiet games, he stole the show after beating four Arsenal defenders before slotting the ball past Petr Cech in the Gunners’ net.
Cesc Fabregas came off the bench as Chelsea attempted to see the game out. When Arsenal made a mess of a throw in late on, the Spaniard chipped the ball into an empty net to confirm the points.
Oliver Giroud scored a late header but it was never going to be enough for Arsenal.
