When does the Chinese transfer window close?

There has been plenty of reports linking Diego Costa with a big-money move to China during the January transfer window.

Tianjin Quanjian reportedly made a huge big for the Chelsea forward, around the time Costa was out of the side with a back injury.

While the talk may have cooled about Costa moving to the Chinese Super League, just because the window closes in England tonight doesn’t mean it’s the end of the saga.

There’s a prolonged transfer window in China. Opening on January 1st the window lasts two months until 28th February giving clubs longer to complete deals. Despite the window closing in Europe players can still move to the Chinese Super League and First Division.

Tianjin Quanjian have already made one big name signing this window bringing in Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel.

There have also been reports of them launching a big money move for West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon. West Bromwich Albion like Chelsea do not want to sell their star striker.
