The FA Cup is back this weekend, and Chelsea start their 2016/17 campaign with a home game against Peterborough United, of League One.
Chelsea have a great history with the FA Cup and have won it on seven occasions.
The club’s first FA Cup win came in 1970, beating Leeds United in the final. Chelsea’s last win came in 2012, with a 2-1 over Liverpool at Wembley. With Chelsea already out of the EFL Cup, Antonio Conte will hope his first season in England will end with silverware.
The Blues have only ever played Peterborough twice before, both games coming in the FA Cup. The last time the two clubs played each other was in January 2001, with Chelsea coming out on top 5-0.
John Terry is the only current member of the squad to have played a part in that fixture. The other fixture also ended in a Chelsea victory, with the Blues winning 5-1 against Peterborough in March 1965.
With Chelsea starting their 2016/17 FA Cup campaign this weekend, we take a look back at the club’s last five FA Cup campaigns and see how far the Blues got, and the teams they played along the way.
