Chelsea’s extraordinary 13 game winning run was ended by a pair of Dele Alli headers either side of half-time, as the gap at the top of the Premier League table remains five points.
The game was an even contest ultimately decided by two identical Alli goals, as he rose highest to nod home two Christian Eriksen deliveries, and keep the rumours of a move to Madrid alive and well.
Chelsea did, however, have chances to take something from the game, with Eden Hazard guilty of missing two very presentable opportunities; first screwing a shot wide, then heading the ball off target shortly before Alli’s second goal.
Antonio Conte brought on Willian, Cesc Fabregas and Michy Batshuayi in an attempt to rescue the game, but it was too little too late, as the Blues failed to break through Tottenham’s stubborn backline.
Despite the defeat at White Hart Line, Chelsea are still five points clear of second place Liverpool in the League standings, while Spurs move up to third.
