AC Milan are aiming to make Cesc Fabregas their first signing once they are sold to a Chinese ownership group, according to the Mirror, who quote Corriere dello Sport.
AC Milan have experienced a fall from Europe’s elite over several years prompting owner Silvio Berlusconi to sell the club.
Jack Rathborn reports the sale is set to be finalised in the beginning of March, forcing Milan manager Vincenzo Montella to seek cheaper options in the January transfer window.
The club will then reportedly launch an astonishing €350 million summer spending spree with Fabregas and Spanish compatriot Isco the top two targets, as Montella seeks to inject creativity into the side that just won the Italian Super cup by defeating Juventus.
If Milan are able to pull off the summer signings of Fabregas and Isco, it will be a statement of intent that the club is ready to compete financially with Europe’s top clubs once again.
