Chelsea opened up a nine-point gap at the top of the Premier League with a 1-0 win over struggling Crystal Palace on Saturday.
In the day’s early kick-off, Conte made two changes from the side that beat Sunderland and brought Eden Hazard and Nemanja Matic back into the side.
A late first half goal from Diego Costa was enough to seal all three points for Antonio Conte’s men.
Costa was on the end of a looping cross from Cesar Azpilicueta, and the Spaniard’s header left Wayne Hennesey with no chance.
It wasn’t without controversy, though, both Costa and N’Golo Kante were booked during each half and they will now miss the Boxing Day game against Bournemouth next week.
Chelsea survived a late surge of pressure from Palace to hold on to all three points and extend their winning run to 11 games, a club record.
Here’re a few things we learned from the 1-0 win at the foggy Selhurst Park.
