Chelsea will offer Frank Lampard a role back at the club if he decides to retire from football when his contract with New York City expires in a few weeks time.
The former England star might choose to follow in the footsteps of his cousin Jamie Redknapp and become a TV pundit and Chelsea will, according to The Guardian, offer him an ambassadorial role if that’s the career path he chooses.

If Lampard decides that he wants to become a coach, the Blues will offer him a role at the club, where he will join a host of ex-players as part of the coaching set up.
According to the report, Chelsea are keen to keep their best ex-players involved with the club so the likes of Didier Drogba, John Terry and Ashley Cole will also be offered roles as and when they hang up their boots.
Whichever career path Lampard chooses to take, Chelsea are hopeful that he’ll still have some involvement at the club.
