It was on this day 20 years ago when Ruud Gullet signed Gianfranco Zola for £4.5million from Parma.
In seven seasons, he proved himself to be one of the greatest foreign platers to ever grace the Premier League and he was even voted Chelsea’s best ever player back in 2003.
Zola played in a total of 312 games for Chelsea, scoring 80 goals and producing some truly outstanding moments and memories along the way.
During his time at the club, he won the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, two FA Cups and the League Cup.
