Jose Mourinho returns to Stamford Bridge for the first time as Manchester United manager on Sunday, since being sacked as Chelsea boss in December last year after a second stint at the club.
And though the title defence of 2015/16 is most certainly a season to forget for Chelsea and Mourinho, the pair have shared some incredible memories together over the years.
With that in mind, we’ve decided to look at one of Mourinho’s biggest successes at Chelsea, which coincidentally came against United, and see where the players from that match are now.
In April 2006, Chelsea hosted United at the Bridge, needing just one point to claim a second successive Premier League title under Mourinho.
The Blues ran out 3-0 winners on that day to win the league in style.
William Gallas gave Chelsea the perfect start, nodding in after Frank Lampard’s corner was flicked on by Didier Drogba.
Joe Cole added a second with a brilliant solo goal before Ricardo Carvalho sealed the win.
