Having just turned 28-years-old we celebrate five of Diego Costa’s best strikes in a Chelsea shirt.
The Spanish striker has enjoyed a very prolific spell in west London thus far – although that hasn’t been without its controversy.
Costa has been fined and suspended by the FA on multiple occasions for his antagonistic stance towards players and referees alike. He has however scored 43 goals in 86 appearances – at a strike rate of exactly 50%, including 38 Premier League strikes in just 61 appearances.
The contentious forward signed from Atletico Madrid in 2014, for £32million – helping Chelsea to their first Premier League title in five years, as well as the League Cup, in which he scored in the final. He racked up 21 goals in his first season at Stamford Bridge – and despite a dreadful season in 2015-16, the Spaniard still managed a reasonable a 16 goal tally.
Under new manager Antonio Conte, Costa has been superb – scoring six times already this season, placing him at the top of the goalscoring charts in the Premier League.
