Off the back of Chelsea’s 2-0 win at Hull on Saturday, Antonio Conte says he will give his players a chance to work and improve, rather than looking to obtain replacements in January.
As reported by Get West London, the Italian has made it clear that it could be too late to do anything from February onwards to obtain a top-four spot in the Premier League.
The present is now more important, January is a long way away. I don’t see an opportunity in January to spend money or change things. Now I see the present. I see in the present the opportunity to improve, and we must continue to change the story of last season. I repeat: last season it was very clear. I think that me and the players, none of us has forgotten this.
But he hasn’t ruled out using owner Roman Abramovich’s newly promised funding. If any of the current crop don’t show the required improvement and passion, then they could be moved on in order to rebuild.

Conte wants to make it clear that last season hasn’t been forgotten and that the present is important, with many players being linked with moves away from the club in both January and in the summer.
The switch to the Italian’s preferred three at the back formation could revitalise a dull looking Chelsea as he can now implement his ideas to their fullest.
