Thibaut Courtois caused quite a stir among Chelsea supporters on Tuesday after speaking to Spanish publication, Marca, about his future at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgian revealed that he is hoping to one day return to Spain after spending three years on loan with Atletico Madrid after initially signing from Chelsea temporarily.
Courtois went on to say that he would run down his contract at Stamford Bridge before deciding on his future.
It would be fair to say that the news hasn’t gone down well with Chelsea fans, who Courtois has always had a rough relationship with after he was brought in to replace club icon, Petr Cech.
Talking up a move away from the club isn’t anything new from Courtois and it wouldn’t be hard to imagine his future away from the club, so we’re looking at possible replacements from the Belgian.
Whilst Asmir Begovic has done well called upon at Stamford Bridge, many would be looking for reinforcements in that area if the club are looking to push on and challenge at the very top.
