The England Under-19 Striker Tammy Abraham has today joined Championship side Bristol City on a season-long loan, as confirmed on the club’s official website.
Abraham made two first-team appearances for the Chelsea first team at the tail end of last season and is available to face Championship rival Wigan Athletic in tomorrow’s opening fixture.

The Londoner featured for England in the European Under-19 Championships this summer, seeing him take part in three of the four matches as England got knocked out by Italy in the semi-finals.
He has also had great success with Chelsea’s youth sides, retaining both the UEFA Youth League and FA Youth Cup. This season’s UEFA Youth League saw Abraham finish as the second highest goal scorer, netting eight goals in nine matches.

Overall, Abraham has a fantastic record with Chelsea’s development sides, scoring 74 in 98 matches across every competition. He has been with Chelsea since Under-8 level and has risen through the ranks ever since.
Abraham’s arrival at Ashton Gate sees him take the number nine shirt, suggesting that he is a crucial part of their plans ahead of the upcoming Championship season.
In a statement with Bristol City’s website, manager Lee Johnson has said this about the striker.
Tammy is a top class player who I believe has a very bright future in the game. We’re very grateful to Chelsea and (manager) Antonio Conte for allowing one of England’s bright young talents to join us and we’re now able to give him the chance to showcase himself in the Championship.
Abraham’s loan exit sees him join Kasey Palmer, Mitchell Beeney, Tomáš Kalas and Alex Kiwomya in making the move to the lower leagues of English football in an attempt to increase their experience in English football.
