Following Saturday’s disappointing result against Rapid Vienna, Chelsea travelled to Wolfsberg to square off against WAC RZ Pellets, collecting a 3-0 victory – Antonio Conte’s first as Chelsea manager.
The match started off with plenty of end-to-end action, with Chelsea creating more chances and looking more lethal in the attacking third.
A couple of mental errors and stupid fouls gave the hosts a few scoring chances, but they finished with just one shot on target and around one-third of the possession.
It was a deserved victory for Chelsea, whose three goal-scorers were all 21-years-old or younger. Bertrand Traore, 20, scored the opener in the 40th minute before Ruben Loftus-Cheek, 20, and Nathaniel Chalobah, 21, both came off the bench and scored the final two goals in the 84th and 90th minutes, respectively.
Please note: I listed minutes played at the end of each player’s summary. That number is much more important than the player’s rating at this stage.
