Diego Costa has reportedly informed club officials at Stamford Bridge of his desire to leave the club this summer, according to Spanish reports.
As reported by AS, Costa wants to return to La Liga and Atletico Madrid after a difficult couple of seasons in the Premier League.
The report suggests that Chelsea have already rejected an initial bid for the striker from his former club. Despite his wishes to return to Spain, it is believed that Costa won’t go out of his way to force an exit due to his respect for the club.

Atletico Madrid are also treating the situation carefully as they don’t want to affect the relationship they hold with the Blues.
Both Roman Abramovich and Antonio Conte are aware of Costa’s desire to leave the club. The striker scored 21 goals for Chelsea in his debut season and found the net 16 times in all competitions last season.
