Chelsea have made the first move in an attempt to sign West Ham and France midfielder, Dimitri Payet this summer.
According to respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the West London club made contact with West Ham about a possible transfer for the attacking midfielder.
The news comes after Dimitri Payet stole the show for France last night during the opening game of Euro 2016.

With one minute left of regulation time, Kante fed the ball to Payet who turned sharply and offloaded the ball onto his weaker left-foot before launching a 25-yard curling effort into the top right corner to give France a 2-1 victory in Saint-Denis.
The Hammers have reportedly slapped a £60m price-tag on the man they signed for £10.5m from Marseille last summer in a bid to ward off interest in their star man.
However, that hasn’t stopped Chelsea from asking the question about luring Payet to Stamford Bridge – although their enquiry was met with a resounding ‘no he’s not for sale’.
Payet recently became the highest-paid player in West Ham history, when he penned a new five-year deal with the club worth £120,000-a-week until the summer of 2021, and is openly very happy with life in East London and has no intention of leaving.
