News broke from Germany’s Euro 2016 training camp earlier this week that Chelsea target and current Roma centre-back, Antonio Rudiger, will not only miss the tournament now but a chunk of next season after suffering an ACL injury during a training session.
With the extensive scouting knowledge that all the top European clubs have in the modern era, Chelsea should have other options in terms of defensive signings even if Rudiger appeared to be the number one defensive target for the Stamford Bridge club.
I’ve taken a look at some possible alternatives that Chelsea have been linked to. I’ve looked at who they are and whether or not they are the right fit for Antonio Conte’s new-look Chelsea side.
These are just five of the players Chelsea have been rumoured to be looking at over the course of the summer, all with exceptional ability who, I believe, would slide straight into the current Chelsea side and get the club back into the league positions they need to be in.
