Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has expressed his excitement at coming up against Manchester United next season – because of who they’ve confirmed as their new manager.
Former Blues boss Jose Mourinho was appointed as the new man in charge at Old Trafford on Friday morning, following the departure of Dutchman Louis van Gaal who’d just led United to the 2015/16 FA Cup, by beating Crystal Palace 2-1 at Wembley. Mourinho has signed a three-year-deal with the Red Devils.
Earlier on in the week, there were reports that Hazard was looking to depart from Stamford Bridge, and had held talks with his former Boss regarding following him to Old Trafford.
However, when questioned in the Belgian training camp where Hazard is currently training ahead of the European tournament, the 25-year-old has made other suggestions, hinting about a stay at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho is a fantastic manager. I wish him good luck for the next season. I can’t wait and just want to play against Manchester United. He’s a good manager with a lot of experience. He’s at a big club now and he will just want to win games.
When speaking about his future in West London, Hazard went on to mention:
I’m happy. I’m always happy. I have spoken to [new boss] Antonio Conte. He said good luck at the Euros and we will see after the Championships.
