As expected, there has been numerous rumours regarding John Terry’s future at Chelsea Football Club, and there has still been no sign of a new contract extension for the skipper.
Just like in any situation where the decision could go either way, there has been arguments for why Terry should leave, and others to why he should stay.
For me, I’m on the side that wants to see the former England captain still at Stamford Bridge next season. Next year is massive for the Club as a whole as we look to bounce back from the disaster that has occurred this campaign. It’s almost like the start of a new era is set to begin as early as August 2016.

To be fair, John Terry kind of shot himself in the foot when he decided to speak to the media earlier on in the season, hinting that he could be on his way out of the Club because he hasn’t been offered a new deal.
However, why not just wait until the end of the season? We were managerless at the time and there’d be no reason to sort a deal out at that precise moment, we needed to concentrate on getting ourselves into some decent form!
When Antonio Conte was announced as our new manager, I thought that’d be the time where Chelsea would also reveal that Terry has been offered a new deal. He more than deserves it. Sure, he hasn’t had the best of season’s this year, but has anyone? If Branislav Ivanovic can be rewarded with a new deal, I’m sure our skipper who lives and breathes our club deserves one too.
Being with the club he adores since his teens, scrubbing players boots just to give him a foot in the door, you’ll never meet a player who was more desperate than JT to become one of Chelsea’s greats, and that’s something he’s achieved since Mourinho took the decision to make him the skipper back in the 2004/05 season.
It’s now Conte’s job to get this Chelsea team back to where they should be, and as a new face coming in, surely you’d want someone like John Terry on your side to assist you to get the best out of the players, and to help you familiarise yourself with your new surroundings. Conte isn’t going to know the ins and outs of Chelsea, and that’s where the presence of Terry would come in handy.
To get us back on track, Conte will need his experienced players to stand up to be counted, and help the current Italian national team boss to revitalise West London.
For me, I think it’s a given that Terry should be with us at Stamford Bridge next season. How about you, give your vote in the poll below.
