Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan for £28m in the summer, according to The Mirror.
It is believed that incoming Italy boss Antonio Conte made the Belgian midfielder his top priority after identifying him as a star performer in Serie A this year, and a deal has been struck after two days of negotiating.
A box to box central midfielder by trade, Conte believes that Nainggolan will add some steel to a midfield which has been found lacking in Chelsea’s woeful defence of their Premier League title.
Roma currently sit 3rd in the Serie A table, with Nainggolan having contributed five goals and a single assist in 30 starts.
Likely to be a part of the Belgium Euro 2016 squad this summer, Nainggolan, 27, is set to sign a five year contract and will be the first player signed in what looks to be a very busy summer of rebuilding at Stamford Bridge.
