Chelsea were comprehensively defeated by Manchester City 3-0 at Stamford Bridge with Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero firing a hat trick for the Citizens.
City came into the game on the back of reaching the Champions League semi-finals and their confidence showed on the pitch.
Despite some early chances for both teams, it was Aguero who gave his team the lead after a counter attack led by former blues player Kevin De Bruyne, who expertly picked out Aguero who managed to tuck the ball past Thibaut Courtois.
Soon after the break, City were at it again with another counter attacking goal, this time Samir Nasri supplying the through ball for Aguero to finish from a tight angle.
Chelsea’s day went from bad to worse after Fernandinho sprinted through on goal and Courtois saw red for bringing the Brazilian midfielder down. Aguero stepped up to complete his hat trick past Asmir Begovic to give the Sky Blues all three points. The result means Chelsea lost their back to back Premier League games under Guus Hiddink for the first time this year.
