They say all great things come to an end — and perhaps this “thing” really wasn’t that great after all. Manager Guus Hiddink’s unbeaten run came to an end after an uninspiring 1-0 defeat at the hands of Swansea.
It was Chelsea’s first game that resulted in zero points for the Blues since their 2-1 loss at Leicester on 14 December under Jose Mourinho. It was also Chelsea first ever Premier League loss to Swansea.
The goal was scored in the 25th minute when Iceland midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson struck a shocking volley that found the bottom corner after an attempted clearance from Matt Miazga.
It wasn’t all negatives for the Blues, as some of the youth got a chance and even some unexpected youth players were on the bench — notably Ola Aina, Kasey Palmer and Charlie Colkett, neither of which made an appearance.
How did the players rate during their shocking afternoon at the Liberty Stadium?
