Last Friday, we celebrated Chelsea legend Didier Drogba’s 38th birthday by letting you decide which goal was the striker’s best ever in a blue shirt.
The Ivorian dazzled Chelsea fans time and time again during his nine years at the club. He proved himself to be unplayable at times; his goals against Liverpool in 2006 and against Tottenham in 2012 are prime examples.
Drogba had also been known to come up big when it mattered most while at Chelsea, scoring in numerous cup finals.
After a few days of dueling, a clear winner has emerged.
It is no surprise that Drogba’s 88th-minute header against Bayern Munich in the 2012 UEFA Champions League final has been voted as his best ever goal for Chelsea.
While he did score goals that were much more extravagant throughout his time in west London, Drogba’s goal to send the match against Bayern into extra time was undisputedly the most important of his entire career.
