Why Massimiliano Allegri?

Massimiliano Allegri seems poised to take the reigns at Chelsea come June, after reportedly being offered a “fantastic” contract.

After winning the Scudetto and reaching the Champions League final with Juventus last year, it seems as though it might be time for a new challenge. With the imminent arrival of Allegri, fresh times await Chelsea Football Club.

As Allegri arrives, the stock and interest of certain players go up. There are many current players at Juventus who could possibly follow Allegri and there are certain players who would possibly play better for Allegri.

One of these players us Juan Cuadrado, who is currently on loan at Juventus from Chelsea. After a rough spell in his first stint, Cuadrado seems rejuvenated under Allegri in Turin.

There is also a certain Paul Pogba, who is in huge demand throughout Europe. It may be very tempting for Pogba to follow his manager, especially to another European powerhouse.

Experience is a major factor in helping a club rebound from a tough season and grow to their potential. Allegri took a superb Juventus side to the Champions League final and then lost major key players. Carlos Tevez, Arturo Vidal, and Andrea Pirlo all left the club, but this did not stop their growth.

Allegri went out and brought in players like Paulo Dybala who has excelled for the Turin outfit. With Allegri at the helm, there is huge hope that the club can rebuild and be a force throughout England and Europe.

Another instance of experience that is hugely important would have to be working under media pressure. Allegri was fired from his post at A.C Milan and was then hired at Juventus. Life was not easy, going from being fired to being expected to win a title with a new team within a season, but he did it. Allegri worked under the pressure and successfully managed to create a great Juventus.

As many may argue there are other managers who should be brought in such as Diego Simeone, Antonio Conte, or possibly even keeping Guus Hiddink, acquiring Allegri is not a bad deal at all.

Experience under pressure, experience rebuilding, and player relationships can be a huge plus to this current Chelsea squad. It has been a rough season, but Allegri might be a good step to re-building.
