Walcott – Arsenal will face a ‘completely different’ Chelsea

Arsenal attacker Theo Walcott believes that his side will face a ‘completely different’ Chelsea at The Emirates on Sunday.

Chelsea, the Premier League champions, currently sit 14th in the table. But since legendary manager Jose Mourinho’s departure, the Blues have gone seven matches undefeated in all competitions. While the four draws they have racked up are still not seen as acceptable by most fans, many believe that Chelsea are on the up.

Theo Walcott is one of those people. Speaking to Arsenal.com, he said:

It is very unusual what has happened to Chelsea. It just shows that everyone is competing and nobody is afraid of anyone in the league.

While the England international believes Chelsea’s downfall this season is shocking, he noted that big games can bring the best out of every team.

They are not getting the results they want but when they come up against us in a big game at the Emirates, it is going to be a completely different team we face. They will be up for the challenge.

They are always a threat. They have got top-quality players, even though some of them are not playing to the standards they set last year but in these games, nobody can call it.

Kick-off between London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal at The Emirates Stadium is scheduled for 4 p.m. GMT this Sunday, with Guus Hiddink looking to extend his unbeaten run as interim Chelsea manager. Hiddink will be hoping to complete Chelsea’s league double over Arsenal. The Blues beat Walcott’s Arsenal 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in the reverse fixture.
