Shanghai SIPG, managed by former England boss Sven Goran-Eriksson, are reportedly lining up a bid for Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, according to the Daily Mail.
Shanghai, who play in the Chinese Super League, are allegedly ready to offer Mikel a contract that would see him earn over £60,000-a-week after tax.
Sven-Goran Eriksson has been in charge of the Chinese side for less than a year but aims to rebuild his managerial reputation by making some big name signings before the beginning of next season.

Mikel, who seemed unfavoured by ex-boss Jose Mourinho, has featured more regularly under Guus Hiddink since the Dutchman’s return as interim Chelsea boss. The 28-year-old has played six times since Hiddink took charge in December.
Therefore, it looks unlikely that he would want to move away from Chelsea until at least the end of the season, as he is very much in Hiddink’s plans.
The Nigerian joined Chelsea in 2006 and is approaching nearly a decade with the club. He has started 170 games for the Blues and scored one goal for the club during his time.
He will be hoping to feature for Chelsea this Sunday, as they travel across London to face rivals Arsenal, who sit at the top of the Premier League, 12 places above the Blues.
