Tonight’s match marked Guus Hiddink’s second match back in charge.
After a short turnaround – two days after a 2-2 draw at home against Watford, Hiddink’s Chelsea battled to a scoreless draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
It was certainly a goalkeeper’s duel, with both Thibaut Courtois and David de Gea making superb saves throughout to keep their respective teams in the match.
The hosts hit two posts in the opening 15 minutes. Juan Mata off the crossbar in the third minute and Anthony Martial off the inside of the post in the 15th minute.
Nemanja Matic had the best scoring chance for the Blues, getting through one-on-one with David de Gea. Matic skied it well over the goal.
