Interim manager Guus Hiddink has been charged with the task of preparing a blueprint for Chelsea’s return to glory by owner Roman Abramovich.
Get West London reports that the Dutchman will attempt to turn around the club’s fortune’s that have left them 15th in the table and just three points above the drop zone.
He will also use the next few months to prepare a report for the Russian billionaire on the changes needed in the team to bring success and silverware back to Stamford Bridge. It appears that Abramovich trusts Hiddink’s opinion enough to give him a second spell at the club.
It was important for me that I could have one-on-ones with a number of people. There is a lot of work to be done for the near future. The team is not in a great state, the squad is ready for rebuilding. So in this coming period it is also about working towards the future. I need to have a complete review and insight into the club and once I have that (then) measures need to be taken.

It is also reported that Hiddink would like former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba to join him in the backroom staff but the Ivorian is currently contracted to MLS side Montreal Impact. He was at Stamford Bridge with the new manager on Saturday though to watch his former side’s 3-1 victory over relegation battlers Sunderland. Hiddink also spoke about Drogba:
We would like to get him involved but he still has a contract with Montreal in the MLS, even though it is the close season for them now. We want to get important players involved with the club they care about. Drogba’s heart is with Chelsea.

Drogba joined Hiddink and Abramovich on the pitch with the players after Saturday’s match as the new manager introduced himself.
The article also believes that former manager Jose Mourinho is the prime target for Manchester United to replace Louis Van Gaal at Old Trafford if the Red Devils lose to Stoke City on Saturday. If Mourinho were to be installed as manager then he could face his former employers on Monday as Chelsea visit United.
