Chelsea’s players need to justify their “big wages” and start playing like “big players” states Cesc Fabregas, in a report from Jack de Menezes of the Independent.
The Premier League champions now sit just one point above the relegation zone after suffering their ninth defeat of the season, falling to Claudio Ranieri’s rampant Leicester at the King Power Stadium.
The defeat on Monday night appeared to be the last straw for Chelsea’s once hailed ‘Special One’, as Mourinho took a notable step away from his defensive stance towards his players, claiming his players “betrayed” his work.

Fabregas, who has been one of many underperforming players in the Chelsea squad, has also questioned the professionalism of his fellow teammates.
Indeed, the Spanish international had the following to say in an interview at Facebook’s UK headquarters:
I am not saying you can’t have a bad season and bad games but the attitude must be spot on. We must always be at the top of our games and the behaviour has to be better than what we are seeing right now from every single Chelsea player.
While Mourinho has admitted defeat in this season’s title race and most recently in the battle for the top four, he has refused to acknowledge that his side may be in a relation battle.

Yet former blues winger, Pat Nevin (pictured above), has told BBC Radio 5 live that the Portuguese should not “ignore the concept” of going down.
You have to be realistic about relegation, absolutely do not ignore it. When you lack confidence, that can spread through the team and it all can go against you. I don’t think they’ll go down, but don’t bury your head in the sand. It’s a possibility, so don’t ignore it.
Chelsea’s next three fixtures include consecutive home games against Sunderland and Watford respectively, followed by a trip to Manchester United.
