Chelsea put in a solid yet ruthless effort against Jose Mourinho’s former employers Porto in a 2-0 win against the Portuguese side at Stamford Bridge.
With the first place in the group up for grabs, the Blues knew a win coming into the match would give them the top spot and so there was plenty to play for in this Champions League clash.
After the embarrassing home defeat against Bournemouth on the weekend, the Londoners will have been extremely motivated to salvage their dismal season and dare I say, the Blues looked like the Chelsea of last season in a tough match and a place in the next round could help alleviate some pressure off Mourinho’s back.
