Chelsea’s young midfielder Charly Musonda is considering leaving the club due to a lack of opportunities, and his father is urging him to do just that.
A report from Matt Law of the Telegraph claims that the 19-year-old wants a move away from the Blues as he sees no clear path of progression into the first team.
The Belgian is seen as one of the best talents to come out of his country in years and Chelsea are keen to keep him at the club. Musonda went on the club’s post-season tour to Thailand and Australia at the end of the last season and hoped that he’d done enough to be part of Jose Mourinho’s plans.

He rejected the chance to go on loan to Vitesse Arnhem, and instead chose to stay with the Under 21s and earn a place in the first team. However, like so many talented youngsters before him, Musonda has not been given a chance and has become frustrated.
His father has urged him to leave The Blues, saying:
He must absolutely leave Chelsea and, since January, Monaco have been trying to sign him. Monaco are not alone but they truly want him. Chelsea don’t want him to go back to Belgium. They want Charly to play in a good team in a big league. He must play for a first team. He progresses every day, but he must develop further.
