Former Chelsea midfielder Gianfranco Zola has expressed his confidence in Belgian winger Eden Hazard, saying he’ll come out of his disappointing form as a better player.
Zola is a fan favourite around Stamford Bridge, with the Italian stating in confidence that Hazard’s poor form will be ‘good for him’ in the long run.
With Chelsea struggling to pick up three points most weeks, and Hazard simply not putting in the performances, it’s been a poor campaign all round so far. The Belgian has been a shadow of the player he was last season, being instrumental to Chelsea’s Captial One Cup and Premier League success.

Hazard joined the Blues from Lille in 2012, shortly after the West London club won the Champions League in the most dramatic circumstances. On more than one occasion this campaign, Blues boss Jose Mourinho has dropped Hazard after failing to score in 18 appearances.
Zola, who is now the manager at Al-Arabi, played for the Blues between 1996-2003, believes Hazard will come out as a better player, and will have his bad form to thank.
Hazard is in a similar situation to I was at Chelsea in my second year. If you want to come out of this situation you have to work really hard and stick together.
Every player goes through this but in a way I think it will be good for him as it will make him think more about his game a bit more.
So it’s an opportunity for him to become a better player. He is young and has the potential to be one of the best.
