According to reports from the Mirror today, Chelsea are interested in signing former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.
Hernandez currently plies his trade in Germany, with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen. He joined them from United in the summer, having spent a season on loan to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

His big break came when he made the move to England after the 2010 World Cup, one that remained secretive throughout the tournament. His nickname and kit name is Chicharito, which is Mexican for ‘Little Pea’. This is due to his father’s nickname being ‘Chicharito’, meaning pea in Mexican.
During Hernandez’ spell with Manchester United, he made 157 appearances, and got himself 59 goals in that time. This season, with Leverkusen, he has nine goals in 13 appearances, an equal number to what he achieved in 33 appearances during his season-long loan in Spain. It is believed that an offer in the region of £8.5m will be enough to tempt the German team to sell the Mexican international.
