Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has made a shock claim that Chelsea could still win the Premier League, despite their woeful start to the season.
In an interview with Match of the Day Magazine, Fabregas was asked if he believes that the season could be turned around and Chelsea could retain the title. His answer was a simple one of four words.
I’m sure we can.
Fabregas then went on to elaborate upon his point, explaining what it will require from the players for this feat to be achieved.
We just have to get our confidence back, win a few games on the trot and from there we’ll see what happens. In the Premier League anyone can lose points to anyone.
Chelsea are currently positioned 15th in the table, with only 11 points from a possible 30 so far this season. To add insult to injury, they were dumped out the Capital One Cup by Stoke on Tuesday.
Fabregas has featured in every league game this season, however, is yet to score a goal, but did get himself an assist in the victory over Arsenal.
Chelsea’s next game is against Liverpool in Saturday’s early kick-off.
