Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has finally hinted at the date when Blues fans can expect to see Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois return to the squad following the injury he picked up in training.
Mourinho has confirmed that he can expect Courtois to be fit and ready for the clash with Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United in December.
In Spain last month, the ‘keeper went for an operation after tearing his meniscus during a training session.
Speaking in his press-conference ahead of tomorrow evening’s clash with Southampton at Stamford Bridge, the Portuguese boss has said that he is looking to sign a new goalkeeper to provide back-up to ex-Stoke City man Asmir Begovic who has started 9 of Chelsea’s last games.
Chelsea make the trip to Old Trafford on December 28th with Mourinho fully expecting to have his no.1 back and fully fit for the clash.
Speaking at the press-conference, Mourinho said:
Courtois is recovering well, working well, but obviously he cannot fight the time. He has that time until he is back.
December for him. First week, second, third? We don’t know, but it’s December for sure. Every thing has gone well. But apart from that – no injuries.
