Chelsea have confirmed that young midfielder John Swift has joined Championship side Brentford on a one-month-loan deal.
This is Swift’s third loan move away from Stamford Bridge. He had a brief spell at Rotherham United in 2014 and spent the end of last year at Swindon Town.
The England Under 20s international has made just one appearance for the Chelsea first team, that was as a last substitute against Cardiff City on the final day of the 2013-14 season

Swift, who was part of the FA Youth Cup winning squad in 2012 and the Under-21 Premier League winning side of 2014, has been a prominent member of the Chelsea Under 21 side this season and recently scored against Liverpool at that level.
Brentford’s temporary manager Lee Carsley had this to say about having Swift arrive at the club:
John played against us for Chelsea’s Development Squad level in August and was very good. He has lots of energy and can play in various positions. He likes to shoot, which is something that we want in the team. John is a really exciting player and it is great that Chelsea feel this is the right environment for him to develop.
According to the official Chelsea website, Swift is one of a staggering 33 players currently out on loan from the club.
