According to The Guardian, Chelsea are planning a double January swoop for a defender and a midfielder.
Serbian right back Branislav Ivanovic has struggled for form this season and Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing up a move for Barcelona defender Dani Alves to replace him at Stamford Bridge.
Another player that Chelsea are looking at is Porto teenager Ruben Neves. The promising midfielder has already been courted with a move to Barcelona and Real Madrid, however, Mourinho will hope to steal the youngster from under their noses.

Chelsea have had an indifferent start to the season and if it continues till January, Mourinho could be forced into using the window to bring in fresh blood and galvanise the squad for the second half of the season.
A player like Dani Alves could well be that man to come in and immediately improve Chelsea’s performances. Ruben Neves, on the other hand, would be a player for the future and not one brought in to turn Chelsea’s short-term problems on the pitch.
