Jose Mourinho has confirmed that both John Terry and Radamel Falcao, who both didn’t feature against Arsenal on Saturday, will start the game against Wallsall on Wednesday night in the Capital One Cup.
The Blues grabbed an important 2-0 victory over their London rivals on the weekend, but the Portuguese boss has opted to tweak the team that saw off Arsene Wenger’s side.
Diego Costa, who the Chelsea boss voted as his Man of the Match for his performance, will be rested against the League One side. The Spaniard has been heavily criticised for his antics during the derby on Saturday, but speaking to the Express, Mourinho said:
I will play Radamel Falcao. Diego goes on the bench.
Blues skipper John Terry, who didn’t miss a game last season, has already missed two domestic games this campaign but will be handed a starting place in mid-week.
Since the defeat to Everton, the 34-year-old hasn’t featured for the Blues. However, he’ll be hopeful that he can use this competition, that Chelsea won last season, to cement his place back in Jose’s starting eleven.
