French champions Paris Saint-Germain are ready to replace current boss Laurent Blanc with Jose Mourinho next season, The Express reports.
Despite Blanc winning Ligue 1 with PSG last season, as well as knocking Mourinho’s Chelsea side out of the Champions League, the club’s owners believe Mourinho is the man who could take the club to the next level.
According to The Express, PSG’s backers are desperate to win the Champions League; a trophy that Mourinho has won twice during his time with Porto and Inter Milan, and the Portuguese boss is their number one target.
And after Chelsea’s 3-1 defeat to Everton, speculation concerning Mourinho’s future at the club started to increase; with many drawing similarities to the 2007/08 season when Mourinho left.

The Blues had lost three of their opening five league fixtures after the defeat at Goodison Park, and The Express suggest a source close to the club revealed that Mourinho could have been sacked had the Blues suffered a defeat to Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Champions League, despite the Chelsea boss signing a new four-year contract extension during the summer.
Furthermore, incidents of the field were not making matters any better for the Blues. The ongoing saga between Mourinho and Eva Carneiro cast an even gloomier sky over the club, with some bookmakers even shortening the odds of Mourinho leaving from 12-1 to just 5-2.
However, things are now looking much brighter at the club following a 4-0 victory over Tel Aviv, followed up by a crucial 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
