Former Chelsea youngster Thorgan Hazard is keen to emulate fellow countryman Kevin de Bruyne in showing the Blues they were wrong to let him go, according to InsideFutbol.
Signed in 2012 from Lens, Hazard, the younger brother of Eden, arrived with much promise, but as with many Chelsea youngsters was farmed out across Europe on loan, ultimately leaving for Borussia Mönchengladbach after a successful loan spell, having not made a single first-team appearance for the Blues.
Now finally settled in Germany, Thorgan seems keen to kick-start a career that was in danger of stagnating in Chelsea’s pool of young talent.
Speaking to Sport Foot Magazine he said:
I am trying to follow his example. He (de Bruyne) was not wanted at Chelsea, but he resurfaced in Germany to become by far, the best player in Bundesliga last season.
It seems that de Bruyne has set down a marker for young players written off early in their careers, with Hazard keen to make Chelsea regret not giving him a first team opportunity.
