Chelsea is interested in signing Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes in January because of the lengthy injury to Thibaut Courtois, which leaves academy prospect Jamal Blackman as the Blues’ second-choice shot-stopper.
Calcio Mercato is reporting that Jose Mourinho is interested in the ex-Barcelona no.1 so that, instead of Blackman, there is an experienced goalkeeper if needed.
It’s been suggested across the summer that Valdes is in dodgy ground with Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal and Mourinho could be about to offer the 33-year-old a route out of Old Trafford.

Since signing for the Red Devils last January, the Spaniard has only made two Premier League appearances.
And even now, Valdes isn’t getting a chance at Manchester United with academy youngster Sam Johnstone preferred on the bench with Valdes watching from the stands.
So Chelsea fans, would you take Valdes as a temporary replacement for Courtois whilst Begovic is our no.1?
