Jose Mourinho spoke to the press today ahead of tomorrow’s game against Roberto Martinez’s Everton side.
The pair meet as the Premier League returns after a two-week international break. There was undoubtedly several talking points before the game as Jose Mourinho took questions on John Stones, team news and much more.
Here are the best bits from Mourinho’s lunchtime press conference.
The special started with his team news ahead of the big game. The big worry for Chelsea fans was the fitness of Thibaut Courtois. He confirmed Begovic will start against Everton and Courtois requires surgery.
Thibaut Courtois was injured in training, he needs surgery on his right knee and he will be out for quite a long time.
Other reports from AS suggest he will be out for up to four months. News that Chelsea fans would have been dreading, despite having an ideal backup in Asmir Begovic.

Jose is clearly looking to get back on track and set the record straight, he still believes the club are in the title race.
Every game is important. We are in the title race but we need points. We go with the intention to win the match.
The mood in the camp is clearly still positive.
We are strong, together. I believe in the players, they believe in me. We are positive.
Mourinho went on to confirm Oscar will not be available, but he is ‘almost there’. He could feature next Wednesday.
