According to The Express, Pedro is due to take a medical tomorrow and complete his transfer to Chelsea. Another Jose Mourinho hijack, this time on Manchester United. Previous transfers include Willian where Jose beat Tottenham to the signing and Fabregas where he beat Arsenal and Man United to the Spaniards signature.
With the Pedro signing imminent, somebody is surely going to have to make way and The Express suggest that Colombian flop Juan Cuadrado could be the man to depart Stamford Bridge this summer. The winger has failed to make any impression when he’s been given the opportunity and extremely likely to be leaving. Juventus are said to be keen on signing Cuadrado after they failed in their attempt to sign Julian Draxler.
The Italian club’s interest in the Colombian could be good news for Chelsea as The Express are also reporting that Chelsea’s odds of signing Paul Pogba have been dramatically cut. A move for Pogba would not only be genius, but also completely unexpected and now The Blues are favourites to sign him. The report quotes Michael Bowers, a Football Trader for Betfair saying:
“After a flood of bets on Chelsea to sign Paul Pogba, the Blues have been cut from 7/1 to 6/4 favourite. This market has attracted a huge amount of attention in recent weeks, with all the momentum behind Barcelona and Man City to win the race for the player’s signature. But it looks like the Eva Carneiro saga may have simply provided the perfect smoke screen for Mourinho to bring the Juventus star into the squad completely under the radar.”
In other news, The Daily Mail suggests that Fenerbahce are looking at the possibility of signing Chelsea legend John Terry on a free transfer at the end of the season. The skipper has a year left on his contract and will only receive a contract with the blues if he produces the goods on the pitch this year. Terry can start talks with clubs abroad as early January and after being substituted against Man City at the weekend, speculation surrounding the player has already started.
Finally according to The Mirror, Tottenham are still interested in signing Victor Moses before the transfer window closes. With Pedro potentially coming in, Moses may see his chances of first team football with Chelsea diminishing. Jose Mourinho may well offload Moses in the hope of gaining some income to help comply with FFP rules. However, Moses was probably Chelsea’s best player during pre-season and when he’s back from the injury he’s currently nursing, it’ll be interesting to see whether he’s afforded a run out in the Blues shirt.
